Dr. Amala Rao grew up in the Bay Area and had a deep passion for animals and medicine from childhood. She qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in London and although she appreciated her time abroad, she was happy to move back to California to practice. Dr. Rao loves general practice for the opportunity it gives her to build relationships with her clients and patients. Her interests are in surgery, neurology, and oncology. 

Aside from work, Dr. Rao can usually be found on road trips, camping, or exploring new corners of California. She also loves listening to music and reading. Although she does not currently have any pets, she is looking forward to adopting a puppy soon!
